The Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria (OSN) promotes excellence in Ophthalmology in Nigeria. The OSN provides a forum for the study and discussion of problems related to ophthalmology, the care of blind people and the prevention of blindness in Nigeria and collaborations with sector stakeholders to achieve its vision of a Nigeria where no one lives with avoidable vision loss.

Since 1969, The OSN has established an evolving organizational format that has set ethical and scientific standards for eye care. These standards are continuously iterated as the organization grows regarding membership, expertise and evidence-based eye care practices. Membership is spread nationwide and includes Ophthalmologists, Diplomates and Trainee Ophthalmologists.
